From September 11 to 17 in the center of Geleen
Innovation, circularity and sustainability. That's what it's all about during the second Bright Festival, which takes place from September 11 to 17 in the center of Geleen.
BrightFestivalis about the wonderful world of innovation, circularity and sustainability. The multi-day program offers fascinating speakers, interactive workshops, fascinating exhibitions. “Whether you are a nature lover, film buff, escape room enthusiast, an environmentalist or simply curious about what the future has in store,” the website states. Explore, learn and inspire together to create a bright future for everyone. Bright Festival is the result of a joining of forces between Stadslabs Sittard Geleen, DenimX and CHILL.
Entrepreneur's Day
The center of Geleen is therefore entirely dedicated to progressive plans. Entrepreneurs can benefit from this on Friday, September 15. During this day, entrepreneurs share their insights and sustainability leaders present their most impressive products. Entrepreneurs receive valuable tips, suggestions and inspiration to initiate or accelerate their own sustainable development under the theme 'Go for circular gold!'
And further..
In the afternoon, the vacant buildings in the city center of Geleen form the stage for a circular tour in small groups along the latest sustainable developments by innovative entrepreneurs from the region. You can talk directly to the exhibitors to ask questions. The responses from last year's participants were positive about the direct contacts and 1-on-1 conversations during the tour. During the new part, the Start-up Lane, startups show their circular creations to the public.
Enlightened readings
Lectures include Fons Bisscheroux from HBI Bisscheroux in Geleen. The lighting manufacturer is a former winner (2019) of a Brilliant Business Award in the Diamond category, for the most innovative company. He talks about the pitfalls they had to overcome on the way to circular products and processes. Also appearing on stage are Ron Lambi (Manager Strategic Business Development within DSM Research), Huib van den Heuvel (CCO of Solarge) and Jan Holla (Leader Circular Economy in Europe at Sabic). Yanick Dols chairs the day and is responsible for attracting startups and scale-ups to the Brightlands Smart Services Campus environment.
