Smart and energy-neutral production
With almost 100 years of craftsmanship, a completely sustainable production process and very modern techniques, Helwig Kozijnen is one of the largest manufacturers of wooden frames in the Netherlands.
Bob Helwig is honored to call himself the general manager. His team of 100 colleagues is an innovative and sustainable partner for construction companies, housing associations and private individuals throughout the country and beyond. Bob Helwig: “We are much more than a carpentry factory. We think along with you throughout the entire process, from front to back. We are not only a production location, but also an engineering office and, with Hermetico, also an implementation office, so we can do even more outside the factory.”
Robots
Trainee Jander Helwig adds: “We now have one of the newest and best machine parks in the Netherlands. Our new paint shop is equipped with spraying robots and there are four thousand solar panels on the roof. We also have a biomass boiler, so that we work almost energy neutrally.”
All wooden frames are made from plantation wood, which means that no natural forests are cut down. A type of wood that Helwig himself introduced into the Dutch carpentry industry. “That suits our company,” says Bob Helwig. “The entire Western Mining Region has quite an innovative character, if you look at everything that happens around the Brightlands Campus. We have good contacts with them.”
