In the Western Mining Region, the business community and the municipalities of Sittard-Geleen, Stein and Beek are working together on Brilliant Business. The Western Mining Region is the economic engine block of Limburg. Here we jointly earn five percent of the Gross Domestic Product by concentrating knowledge and activity. In the Western Mining Region we form a knowledge cluster with international appeal in the areas of chemistry, materials, automotive production and logistics.

To continue to maintain economic growth, we work intensively with all municipalities in South Limburg. In the Euregion, Aachen, Genk, Köln and Düsseldorf are important discussion partners. Our productive and innovative region plays a leading role in the knowledge axis between Brainport Eindhoven, Greenport Venlo, the Chemelot campus in Sittard-Geleen, the Health Campus in Maastricht and the Smart Services Campus in Heerlen.
